Donations: Book Details: About the book: Each meditation begins with a scripture passage in which water plays a central role. The scripture reading is followed by a poem stanza relating one dimension of the Katrina story, in the voice of a person in the New Orleans area. A brief prayer closes the exercise, weaving together the sacred text and the poem, creating a new and personal faith story. The meditations are intended to serve as examples for the reader’s own journaling. A "How to Use This Book" section provides instruction in the method of Lectio Divina, and two blank journal pages are included near the end of the book. A Wind from God is appropriate for individual or small group use, and because it includes forty entries, it would fit nicely into a Lenten prayer practice. |
